Fairy Tail - world's most outrageous guild!? ♥

Do fairies have tails? Nobody even knows if they exist in the first place.
That's why it's an eternal mystery. An eternal adventure.
That's the meaning behind the name.

A young celestial wizard, Lucy Heartfilia travels to the land of Fiore to join the magical Fairy Tail Guild. Along the way, she meets Natsu Dragneel, a teenage boy looking for a dragon named Igneel, with his best friend, Happy. Shortly after their meeting, Lucy is abducted by Bora of Prominence, who was posing as Salamander of Fairy Tail, to be sold as a slave. Natsu rescues her and reveals that he is the real Salamander and has the skills of a Dragon Slayer. He offers her membership into the guild, which she accepts, and they become a team performing various missions for the Fairy Tail guild. - Wikipedia

Fairy Tail is a manga/anime series from the same author of Rave Master, Hiro Mashima. I just started watching/following the anime series recently... around a week ago. Although I've already heard about this manga before, when it was just about to start (because of rave master), I did not bother reading it. I think I was too lazy to read back then... or it just felt like I wouldn't like it. When the news about the anime came out, I was surprised that it was one of the most anticipated anime series of 2009. Everyone is excited with its release. I did not know that it was quite popular because Rave Master, the author's first manga, was not that popular.

Until around last week, when I was too bored and craving for a new anime series, I decided to give it a try... and I'm glad I did. It was just the first episode and I'm already addicted to it! Although at first, the characters somehow remind me of Rave characters, I learned to like them as Fairy Tail characters and not Rave characters look-a-like. Although it felt nostalgic when I saw Siegrain because he looks like Sieg Hart and I found out that it was actually a form of fan service. I love the characters because they all have different personalities and funny sides although each of them have a sad past. I like the way they treat their friends, and neutralize one another. Also, another thing why I like Fairy Tail is because of the characters being mages and the idea of guilds.

My favorite female character from the series is Erza Scarlet because she is sooo pretty and sooo red. lol. I also like her "re-quip" style of magic. Actually I'm always looking forward for her new armors and weapons every episode.

Although I ike Natsu, I like Gray Fullbuster more. He looks very cool and good-looking. He is also funny when he strips. And I love it when he and Natsu fight, then pretend to be on good terms when Erza looks at them. XD.

Aside from Plue (which I already love ever since Rave Master), I also love Happy sooo much. I love to hear him say "aye!", and he is sooo cute and funny.

I still don't have any plan of reading the manga even though sometimes I'm getting impatient for a new episode since I really like to know what happens next. But if ever the anime series would be cut/end or if it will have filler episodes, because it is already catching up, maybe that would be the time for me to read. I'm really lazy now to read a new title. And I like watching more than reading.

Fullmetal Alchemist / Hagane no Renkinjutsushi

Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange... In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth... - Alphonse Elric

Imagine a world in which Alchemy is not only possible, but used frequently. Alchemy, though, is a science, and with all sciences there are laws that must be followed. Welcome to the anime, Full Metal Alchemist. The story begins about two brothers, Alphonse and Edward Elric. Ever since they were young they had practiced the science of alchemy. You follow their journey of being alchemists and their quest to regain that which they have lost. (http://www.fullmetal-alchemist.com/)

Hagane no Renkinjutsushi or Fullmetal Alchemist is a manga/anime series by Hiromu Arakawa. At first, I really didn't like Fullmetal Alchemist even though I haven't watched a single episode of it yet. It's just that it felt like it wasn't my type. I've got a lot of chance to watch it on local tv but I did not bother watching even a single episode even though I've been hearing a lot of feedbacks that it was a good anime. Until around last year, when I decided to get active in the AMC forum of Gaia Online. It seemed that everyone knows and have watched FMA. And I felt like I'm the only one who doesn't know about it. So out of curiosity and since I've been searching for a new anime series to watch, I decided to give FMA a chance.

I cannot remember what was my first impression of the series after watching one episode. But I got somehow addicted to it that I was able to finish the entire FMA anime for 2 days! Since the anime was not finished, I researched  a bit and got disappointed that the anime was somehow different from the manga. I really want to know what will happen to the Elric brothers but I wasn't addicted enough to read the manga. Then I found out about the movie. Although it wasn't also really part of the manga it was the conclusion to the anime. I got emotional with the movie that I really cried at the end. Then I found out about FMA Brotherhood and I was so happy because they said that it was following the manga. So now, I'm patiently waiting for every release of Brotherhood. It's actually one of my stress relievers.

I'm looking forward to what will happen to the characters at the end. If Al and Ed would be able to regain back their bodies... if Roy would be fuhrer... If Roy and Riza would end up together ♥... I'm also somehow predicting that the ending would be a tear jerker . I don't know why and how... but it's just the type of anime that would make me cry in the end whatever happens. And if ever Roy would be fuhrer,  Maes would be somehow be remembered again at the end because he is one of the reasons why Roy is determined to reach his goal. I remember, in both anime, when Maes died, my head hurt for crying so hard T_T. It was the saddest part of the series as of now. I could not stop crying especially when I heard his daughter Elicia saying why they were burying her dad and that they should stop so he can return to work T_T

FMA is really one of the best anime series. I hope FMA:B would stay on track and would be able to finish the anime. Because I'm already too lazy to read the manga since I'm already reading a lot of titles... But if ever the second anime would not be able to finish, I guess that would be the time for me to read the manga where the anime left of. Because I know it would be worth it. ^^

A Dancing Teddy - my Goong aka Princess Hours Addiction

Set in an alternate 21st century reality where Korea possesses a royal family, since 1945 to present, this show revolves around the lives of the Crown Prince Lee Shin, and his new bride, Chae-kyeong.

Due to a promise between the former king of Korea and an ordinary, strong-willed girl's grandfather, our heroine finds herself betrothed to a seemingly cold-hearted prince of Korea. How can she marry a guy whom she overheard proposing to another girl! Both unwilling parties agree to the marriage, each with his and her own different motivations for the agreement to marry. Can love bloom under the strain of love rivals and political ambitions? - Wikipedia

Let's manipulate the history a bit. And let's say what if we have royal families and have constitutional monarchy? Then instead of tourists in Gyeongbok and Changdeok Palaces, there will be royal gardeners, officers who had gone through intensive training and education. Every year, there will be events hosted by the royal family. And tv stations would be busy to broadcast. Now let's imagine... instead of the abandoned and lonely old palaces. Imagine palaces filled with royal families and people... - Goong vol. 1

Goong or literally Palace, is currently an ongoing manhwa by Park So-hee.  It has been adapted to a tv drama series with the same title in Korea but it was released internationally as Princess Hours. Princess Hours is the best Korean drama ever made. Before, I did not really care for k-dramas. I just watched them sometimes on tv because there's nothing to watch or I'm waiting for the next show. But Princess Hours sparked my interest for the Korean culture. After watching the series, I was really into the "korean wave."

Actually, when Princess Hours first aired in our country, I wasn't able to start it. I started the series with their palace wedding already. I was laughing hard when Chae-kyeong's headgear fell on the prime minister while she was bowing her head. I also found the storyline interesting (even though it was just like Cinderella) and the prince - Joo Ji Hoon is really hot. XD Since then I always stayed up late at night just to watch it even though I have school the next day. I remember I was always looking forward to getting back to my dorm after school so I can finish everything that I have to do. So when it's already time for Princess Hours, I can watch it without any hindrances. Actually, sometimes even when I still have to study or I still need to do something, when it was already Princess Hours on tv, I stop whatever I'm doing so I could watch.

Let's brighten up our palace and imagine, that there actually lives
a charming prince that every girl is in love with. - Chae-kyeong

I could no longer count how many times I've wtached the drama. I was able to watch every rerun on tv, I was also able to watch it online and I even have the dvds!!! I'm so addicted to Princess Hours that no matter how many times I watch, it doesn't fail to make me laugh, cry, angry, irritated and fall in love over and over again ♥ ♥ ♥ .

The strange, uncomfortable and awkward feelings I had about your
existence... vanished in one moment...
because of that radiant smile. I want to see it again. - Lee Shin

Due to my addiction, I decided to read the manhwa. Actually they have some differences especially that the drama had already ended but the manhwa is still ongoing. But most of the story from the manhwa were retained although not everything happened exactly the same. I can't say which is better because I fell in love first with the drama. While the manhwa is sustaining my addiction for the series.

One of the reasons why I readily fell in love with the series is because of JJH and YEH playing as Shin and Chae-kyeong. I really, really love their pairing. JJH is sooooo hot (I don't care about the drug scandal... he is still HOT XD). I also find YEH pretty and sexy. Words can't really express my love for the series and to those two. That's why I made this blog so I can somehow have an outlet for my addiction. :P ♥   ♥   ♥

Rurouni Kenshin - 11 years of love...continued.

The manga has 28 volumes and 255 chapters plus a special chapter about Yahiko. Well, my favorite chapters were actually just the counterpart of my favorite episodes from the anime with some additions from the Jinchuu Arc. Anyway, I'm still going to list them down. ^^

Favorite Chapters:

chapter 14: A Final Act Under the Moon - Kenshin's fight with Jin-e. He was about to kill Jin-e but then Kaoru was able to gather her strenght and stop Kenshin. XD

57: May 14th 1878 "Evening" - On May 14th 1878. The man known as Himura Kenshin once again became a Rurouni. Alone. He disappeared... into the foreboding darkness...

Yup it's Kenshin's goodbye to Kaoru!!!

165: Remembrance 1: Hitokiri - the 15 year old hitokiri in action! I really love his eyes.

183: Confession (Part 2) - Kaoru told Kenshin that she wants to stay with him! XD

207: Plunge into Darkness - the chapter where they thought Kaoru was killed by Enishi. I was crying up to the next chapter. I like it because it is where Kenshin's world was shaken because of Enishi's jinchuu.

255: Toward a New Era - the last chapter! Kenshin, Kaoru and Kenji!!! ♥ ♥ ♥

I lost my list of RuroKen quotes when my old hard disk crashed. These are the only ones that I was able to save and everything is from Kenshin.

 Himura Kenshin:

When one dies, he does not bring back those hє had killed. Doing deeds for the good of the many, like wielding a sword to protect them. that is the true meaning of atonement.

To seek the smile of the most important person to me now, I'll go forward into a new step... that is stronger in force than before.

To protect Kaoru-dono, I will be the Hitokiri once again!

What good is hiten mitsurugi ryuu. What good is Himura Kenshin. Again, I failed to protect the one person who is most important to me... Kaoru-dono... Kaoru

A journey without farewells, a beginning without end. It's a little lonely, but that's how it is.

Do you remember... When we came back from Kyoto, and I said, "I'm home"? That was the first time I'd said those words ever since I became a rurouni.

Favorite songs from the anime:

Kimi ni Fureru Dake de by Curio
Namida wa Shitte iru by by Mayo Suzukaze
Fourth Avenue Cafe by L'Arc~en~Ciel
It's Gonna Rain by BONNIE PINK
1/3 no Junjou na Kanjou by Siam Shade

1st part

Rurouni Kenshin - 11 years of love and still counting!!! XD

Yup, this post would be about my most favorite anime - Rurouni Kenshin!

Rurouni Kenshin is a manga and an anime made by Nobuhiro Watsuki. The story of Rurouni Kenshin takes place during the early Meiji era in Japan. It tells the story of a peaceful wanderer named Himura Kenshin, formerly known as the assassin "Hitokiri Battousai". After participating during the Bakumatsu war, Kenshin wanders the countryside of Japan offering protection and aid to those in need as atonement for the murders he once committed as an assassin. - wikipedia

This is my favorite description of RuroKen: A Manga that encompasses nearly every aspect of greatness. Of which include: spectacular battles, emotion, humor, and romantic comedy.- urban dictionary

It tells about the adventures of Kenshin after meeting Kamiya Kaoru and living at the Kamiya Dojo. Along the way, they met new friends like Myoujin Yahiko, Sanosuke Sagara and Takani Megumi, the Oniwabanshuu ninjas and more.

I first saw RuroKen from a tv commercial after getting home from school. At that time, I was not yet a big fan of anime. I just watch them because I thought they were just ordinary cartoon shows. Upon seeing the tv ad, I decided that I wanted to watch it because it looks nice. But then I could not get home in time to watch it. Gradually, I was able to forget about it. Until one day, when I don't have school, I was finally able to watch it. The very first episode that I was able to watch and one of my favorite episodes too, was episode 30 - A Devil of Vengeance. It was about the fight of Kenshin and Saitou before Kenshin left for Kyoto. The episode was really awesome for me. Kenshin was hot and amazing and the fight scenes were really great. From that moment, I fell in love with the series. And even though some people doesn't like Kaoru because she is just another damsel in distress, she's one of the reasons why I came to love the series. Anyway she's not really a useless damsel in distress because she can also fight ^^ .

I really, really love the whole series - manga, anime, ova's, movie... it's just awesome. Although at first, I did not really like the last ova - Seisōhen, because maybe it would have been better if the whole Jinchuu Arc was shown and the manga ending was kept, I still came to love it. First time I saw it, the ova was just beginning and I'm already crying! Not knowing, that I'm going to cry until the end. I was very, very sad and a little angry but at the same time happy for Kenshin and Kaoru. Even after the credits, I was still crying and almost got dehydrated. lol. It took me weeks before I could finally recover. I could not stop thinking about the end. Until now I still cry whenever I watch it.

I also cried at end of the manga because it was really, really great. Rurouni Kenshin would forever be the no.1 manga/anime for me. Thank God for Nobuhiro Watsuki for making this great series. ^^
The anime is comprised of 3 arcs: Tokyo, Kyoto and the Filler arcs. The Filler arcs contained the Shimabara, German and the Feng Shui arc. 2 OVAs: Tsuiokuhen (4 episodes) and Seisouhen (2 episodes). And 1 movie: Ishin Shishi e no Requiem

My favorite episodes of the anime:

Episode 7 : Deathmatch Under the Moon - Kenshin's battle with Udo Jin-e where he became Hitokiri Battousai

12: Birth of a Boy Swordsman - I love this episode because of Yahiko and Tsubame. And also because of the funny scene wherein Kenshin and Sanosuke was on the roof glaring down at the thugs who cornered Yahiko. Then when Yahiko looked up they hid themselves and made some animal noise.

30: A Devil of Vengeance - Kenshin and Saitou's fight

31: A Wish Unrequited - The 11th year of Meiji, May 14th. On this day, Kenshin Himura returned to wandering once again. And into the pitch black darkness he disappeared, alone.

It is where Kenshin bid Kaoru goodbye before leaving for Kyoto. T_T This is my most favorite episode. I was left speechless while Kaoru was crying.  Most unforgettable episode.

60: The Man who is chosen for Victory - Kenshin and Shishio's final battle. One of the reasons why I love it aside from the fight was because when Kenshin was about to give up or something like that, he remembers Kaoru and was able to fight again. XD

This is it for now. I would be posting about my favorite chapters and quotes maybe later. ^^

Scarlethaven

I named this blog Scarlethaven for two reasons: first, because I love the color RED and second is well... because this blog would serve as a place for me to express myself. I'm not really a blogger. It's just that there are times when I'm not contented about just writing my feelings in a journal. And I also need a place to talk or write about my interests/hobbies/addictions which sometimes, I cannot contain :P. That's why I posted there: I'm just a crazy girl who needs her outlet for the randomness of life ^^ . Because I really need an outlet sometimes, where I can be free to write/post anything... anything. The "Random Thoughts" part in the sidebar would be like my current status/feeling.

Anyway... my banner  has an image of Kenshin and Kaoru from Rurouni Kenshin because RuroKen is my most favorite anime. I've been loving it for almost 11 years now, and still counting! XD And of course Kenshin and Kaoru is my most favorite anime couple.

Then there are also images from the Korean Drama - Goong a.k.a Princess Hours. I am so addicted to it that I could no longer keep count of how many times I've watched the drama ever since it was first aired here in my country around December, 2006. I don't get tired of watching Joo Ji Hoon and Yoon Eun Hye as Lee Shin and Shin Chae Kyeong. Until now I still watch my favorite episodes of the drama or just stare at their pictures whenever I feel sad or down or when I just feel like it. XD

And I also put Xerxes Break on the sidebar because I'm a big Break fangirl!!! XD ... I <3 him so much in Pandora Hearts.
